We are fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan so we don't have to fight them here?
Just found out that the Taliban are planning to build pedal powered helicopter gunships out of scrap metal based on Leonardo Da Vincis blueprints...they fly very slowly and under our radar systems. They are also constructing thousands of landing craft from old baths in which they intend to paddle up the Thames and hide out in M.P s Duck houses until it is time to strike....are we all stupid? note no almost swear word this time.

If we had no troops in Afghanistan right now and the Taliban were about to take control again, would we send 100,000 troops in to prevent them from doing so? I doubt it. That means that we are only sending troops because Obama does not want to take a political hit right now, not because we see the Taliban today as a national security threat.

Al Qiada can be defeated by empowering local tribes and civilians economically (With some US missile strikes here and there when needed), not supporting a corrupt Afghan government and their warlord comrades. Al Qiada attacked us not the Taliban. We can deal with the Taliban spending less lives and less treasure than by antagonizing them with more troops on the ground and spending 75 billion. Which will do nothing for the civilians and tribes that do not recognize the central government regardless of the Taliban being there or not. Obama, with all his talk of history, should recognize this full well.

Another point I would make is that if the fate of the free world is really at stake in the Afghan-Pak border, than why on earth would we be stating that all it will take to prevail before withdrawing is an Afghan Army strong enough to fight there? Let alone one that we only want to invest a set amount of years to build up! Furthermore, how are you going to defeat the Taliban in partnership with Pakistan as it is half the Pakistani security services and their mafia style buisness partners that fund the Afghan Taliban! None of this makes any sense at all if you think about it for 5 minutes using your own logic.
No, just you. The theory is that as each country falls, it's easier to infiltrate the next one. It can be a domino effect. So, say the Taliban get control of Afghanistan back, then they have a base from which to infect Iraq, then Iran then Turkey, and eventually, a country on YOUR doorstep. The same thing is happening in Africa.

It's this same basic motivation that was behind the US running around the world trying to stop the spread of communism during the cold war.

I'm not defending it, just trying to explain something you must have missed while you were sleeping in history class.
That sounds like a great new season for scrap heap challenge :,)

Also reminiscent of Scapa Flow

EDIT illitrt ............This "domino effect " you talk about is this why you have a problem is it cause they have not started delivery's in your area yet
You should stop asking questions and go and make me a sandwich.
