Different between my blue print of a house and a architect blue print.?

what is the different between when a architect make a blue print of a house and when i make a blueprint of a house. i want to build a simple house i made a blueprint which includes the width and length , where the windows and door are going to be. what do architect do and what makes them different and professional than me.

An architect is trained in the building standards and engineering calculations that are necessary to make sure that a building is strong enough to stand on its own, resist the effects of weather, safe for the occupants and efficient to build and to maintain. Without the sort of skill an architect or professional builder has, you yourself could not possibly know all of the complicated components, mechanical systesm (plumbing, heat, electrical) and measurements that have to be taken into account when constructing a house. There are building codes that have to be satisfied as well. Most municipalities in the US and Canada will not let anyone build unless they have the blueprints approved by a licensed architect or engineer to assure that they meet those codes.

Thinking you can do it just as well yourself is like saying you could take a pair of scissors and cut out your child's appendix just as well as a doctor could.

You might be able to design a small shed or cabin yourself, but not an entire house.

You can, however, buy approved sets of blueprints to build that are already 'sealed" by an architect or engineer. Or you can hire one to make you a set to your dimensions.
Your's isn't a blue print. It's a floor plan.

An architect-designed blue print is an extemelt detaild drawing, and has an official seal that they earned through college courses.
