House Plans from Architect?

If I go to an architect to get blueprints drawn up for a house, what should I get? What kind of views, how many pages is normal? plans for each floor, elevations, etc... what kind of details should be included, and how detailed should it be?

The schematic phase will include plans, elevations, a perspective and/or perhaps a model.
Construction documents will also have one or more site plans, landscaping plan, foundation plans, full sections, partial sections, blown up details, various schedules, interior elevations, electrical plans, structural plans, possibly plumbing plans and more - from 20 pages or so to over a hundred, depending on the size and complexity of your home.
