Ok. So you test it in already excavated soil. And the experience of the operator is almost non existent. And no its not a monster. Been running these machines for years. Try trenching with the Hitachi or John Deere 450′s. Those are monsters.

He sets the scoop down to dig before he stops swinging, this will in time ruin bolts etc. He also overfills the bucket sometimes so that he stands on the tip of the belts. These are things that you could get fired from doing.
