Drawing your own house plans with architectural CAD software will enable you to produce professional house blueprints. Added benefits are that it will also enable you to save money on your own custom house plans, and you might even be able to help a friend with his or her architectural design, too. A builder can then take those CAD blueprints and actually build your house with them.
CAD, or computer assisted drawing, makes a number of software programs that will enable you to make architectural house plans. The CAD drafting software has different features with each of the different types of programs available. Some of the software will enable you to make:

If you intend to use the software for purposes other than just house plans, such as general drafting or component design, then you will probably want to invest in a better quality software version of CAD that will give you more capabilities.
