  5. T810G says:

@deppressed1 yea cost 130.. i saw a good dog house for 200.. but im broke, thats why i wanted to build one.. but it doesnt save me much

@FUNisUnderRated i have a question i read that it shouldnt be too roomy so that the dog can retain its body heat. but at the same time i want him to have room. and that inside room is great. would it be good enough for winters in massachusetts? i might get a dog house heater for him too if necessary

Okay, maybe the pilot holes are a bit of over kill. What I really wanted here was what I call a clearance hole. Since deck screws are threaded all the way to the head, they don’t always do the best job of pulling two pieces of wood tightly together because they are cutting threads into both pieces. In this case, the screw can tighten in the plywood before before the material is pulled down tightly onto the two by fours below. A clearance hole can prevent this from happening.

That dog house is fancier than my house.
Who actually drills pilot holes for a 3″ deck screw?

@charlestv9 i am 14 and I used scrap wood around my house because we just finished building, then I used leftover siding for it and leftover roof shingles so it was all free.

  15. deppressed1 says:

A 130$ you gotta be kidding me , is there any cheaper way to make one. I’m just a jobless young teenager who want’s to build a dog house for his dog but i gotta admit if expert village made a video on how to make a dog house they’ll use expensive materials
